Sickled ABOUT US

Sickled (John A. Thompson Sr. Foundation) is committed to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by sickle cell anemia. Our mission is to provide support, education, advocacy, and resources to empower those living with this inherited blood disorder and to promote awareness and research to find a cure.

Our foundation strives to:

  1. Support Affected Individuals and Families: We offer a compassionate and understanding community for individuals with sickle cell anemia and their families. We provide resources to help them manage the physical, emotional, and social challenges associated with the condition.
  2. Raise Awareness: We work tirelessly to raise awareness about sickle cell anemia, dispelling myths and misconceptions. Through education and outreach programs, we aim to foster a better understanding of the disease in the broader community.
  3. Advocate for Better Care: We advocate for improved healthcare access and quality for individuals with sickle cell anemia. We collaborate with healthcare providers, policymakers, and researchers to ensure that those affected receive the best possible care.
  4. Support Research: We fund and promote research aimed at finding more effective treatments and ultimately a cure for sickle cell anemia. We believe in the power of scientific discovery to change lives.
  5. Empower Individuals: We empower individuals with sickle cell anemia to live full and meaningful lives. Through educational programs, financial assistance, and access to support networks, we help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

In pursuing these goals, Sickled – The John A. Thompson Sr. Foundation envisions a future where no one has to suffer from the debilitating effects of this disease. We are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those affected by sickle cell anemia and working towards a world free from its burdens. Together, we can bring hope and healing to the sickle cell community.
